In Two Easy Steps You Can Learn To Remove Charge Offs From Your Credit Report

There are a number of ways that you can demolish your credit score. The most common thing that could bring down ones credit score are charge offs. A charge off is comparable to trying to stop those viagra pop-ups from opening while doing a live presentation. Its a situation that everyone would like to avoid.

Before you can accomplish anything you must first have a copy of your credit reports in your hands. Take a moment and re-read that last sentence. Notice that I put an “s” at the end of the word reports. That’s because you must have a copy of all three reports from all three credit bureau. Thanks to the Fair Credit Reporting Act every American is entitled to at least one free credit report per year. Personally I suggest that you check your credit biannually.

Let’s cruise on to step number two. If all has gone well you should now have all three credit reports in your hands. It’s time to check off all of the negative digs that you find on your credit report.

The next task that you are going to want to attend to is writing your letter of dispute. You will have to send each of your letters to their perspective credit bureaus. This is the part that most individuals screw up. When you send your letters you have to send them via certified mail.

You want to send your dispute letters certified mail because the receipt from the mail will be the only acceptable proof that you will have. Now the clock is ticking. The ball is rolling. The credit bureaus now have 30 days to investigate and respond back to you. If for whatever reason the credit bureaus should fail to do so by law they have to remove the negative mark from your credit report.

Nine out of ten people unfortunately fail to understand the significance of the strategy that I have just explained. I know that I didn’t understand it at first. Then I realized that simply by removing a single charge off from my credit report that my credit score could go up well over 100 points. I’m sure that you would agree that in the current economic situation that we all could use all the buying power that we can muster up.
